Tim Mulcare
Director
Tim Mulcare has a PhD specialising in economic history and
industrial organisation, and skills in research, analysis and evaluation
as well as general facilitation and business mentoring. Tim undertook
teaching and research roles at Victoria University of Wellington over
the 1990's before moving to Te Puni Kokiri, where amongst other things
he helped lead the design and management of the Maori Business
Facilitation Service in its formative years. He is currently Chief
Executive Officer of Tautoko Enterprise Support, a business mentoring
organisation that delivers business assistance services, including the
Maori Tourism Mentoring Programme for the Ministry of Tourism in
2009/10.
Tim affiliates to Ngati Tama and also has links to the upper
Whanganui river. He lives at Ngunguru on the Tutukaka Coast, and is
married with four children. His interests include farm-forestry,
mountain biking, snow-boarding and most water sports, including being
part-owner of a classic 32 foot kauri launch moored around the Rawhiti
Peninsular in the Bay of Islands. He has travelled extensively in
Europe, Australia and South-East Asia and believes he knows what is
needed to make a truly memorable tourism experience. He is looking
forward to bringing his analytical, network and facilitation skills to
help advance the cause of Maori and cultural tourism in Taitokerau.
